Breakfast ($10 extra per person)
Yummy mixed grain (or plain) bread is baked on request with free range eggs cooked any style, served with fresh ground coffee, tea and delicious home made jams & marmalades.
The jams are made by Nikki with local organic produce – either from our garden or our neighbours. Flavours vary with the season – elderberry, grape, feijoa, raspberry, quince, grapefruit and pears are just some of the fruits that Nikki regularly jams.
Organic, home strained grape juice is also available and there is an ever changing variety of fresh fruits on offer too. There are also gluten and vegan free options for breakfast – please let us know when you book if you have special requirements.
Lounge
Wallowing bean bags, comfy sofas and chairs and a real log fire to keep you toasty warm. There’s no television at Jugglers Rest but plenty of games, books (and book exchange), magazines, musical instruments, an extensive and varied CD collection and a wide variety of juggling/circus toys. Plenty to keep you entertained – whether you’re inside or out.
Our peaceful gardens are full of yummy things to eat and spaces to either play or relax. Shady verandas and hammocks provide quiet reading corners whilst the lawns are perfect for soaking up the sun or practicing elusive juggling moves.
Organic vegetables and herbs are available free for guests to use and fruit trees provide us with grapes, lemons, fejoias, plums and pears. We have fresh oregano, thyme, sage, rosemary, marjoram, several types of mint, parsley, pineapple sage, native kawakawa and sometimes even basil – all organic and all free for you to use fresh from our garden.
The BBQ area (yes there’s a gas BBQ available for guests to use) and outside tables are perfect for alfresco dining and drinking. In the evening fire torches are lit and weather and talent pending, fire and glow shows are provided for your entertainment and amazement!
