Picton Visitor Information Site
Informative and up to date information about Picton’s attractions, activities, services and accommodation. Secure online bookings for Interislander ferry tickets, tranzcoastal train tickets and rental cars.

Stay Marlborough
Useful information about things to see and the latest events scheduled in the Marlborough region.

The local pub only a minutes walk down the road they have very reasonably priced meals and beers. 🙂

Transport

Interislander Ferry
There is a choice of two companies to choose from to bring you to Picton and the ferry crossing which links New Zealand’s North and South Islands has been described as, “One of the most beautiful in the world”. There’s a shuttle bus operating at the Wellington end of the journey to take foot passengers into the city.

Bluebridge Ferry
The Bluebridge offers free movies on board and a shuttle bus service from the Picton terminus to your chosen accommodation.

Tranzscenic – Rail Travel
New Zealand’s railway travels through truly spectacular scenery. The tranzcoastal traverses the east coast of the South Island between Picton and Christchurch and the tranzalpine route, which runs across the South Island crossing the Southern Alps, has been billed as one of the top train journeys in the world.

Intercity Coach
Operates across New Zealand and can have some amazing deals on prices if tickets are booked far enough in advance.

Air New Zealand
The national carrier of New Zealand. Wellington and Blenheim are the two closest airports to Picton which receives Air New Zealand flights.

Car Hire New Zealand
Gives you a range of providers to choose from. Most of the main car rental agencies are represented at the ferry terminal on Picton. At the major centres (Picton, Wellington, Christchurch, Auckland) you can sometimes pick up a cheap relocation deal. Jugglers Rest recommends Omega Car rentals for friendly and efficient service

Beachcomber Fun Cruises
This company operates the famous mailboat run delivering the post to outlying homesteads and cottages in the Marlborough Sounds. It can also drop you off or pick you up at various points on the Queen Charlotte Track.

Cougar Line Water Taxis
Offer transport in around the Marlborough Sounds including day walks to the Queen Charlotte Track and based in Picton.

Sounds Air
This local airline flies in and out of Picton’s Koromiko airport from Wellington over the beautiful Marlborough Sounds, offering an alternative to the ferry crossing.
